Welcome to the Biblical Counselling Ministry

Biblical counselling is counsel from the Bible, which we believe to be sufficient for everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3-4). Preaching is the public ministry of the Word and counselling is the private, personal ministry of the Word. 

Counselling happens at an informal level throughout Onekawa Bible Church. However, there are occasions when counselling is required at a formal level. Onekawa Bible Church is able to offer structured counselling as well.

Why do we have a biblical counselling ministry?

While we believe that all Christians are called to speak truth in love to one another (Ephesians 4:15), to build one another up (Ephesians 4:17), to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:1), to exhort one another (Hebrews 10:24,25), to comfort one another (2 Cor 1:4), and to encourage one another (1 Thessalonians 5:11), there are nevertheless times in people’s lives where their own personal suffering and struggles may require direct and focused discipleship to help them overcome what has troubled them (Hebrews 12:1).
It is for that reason that through our biblical counselling ministry we have trained and equipped men and women who seek to bring the hope and help of Jesus Christ to those who are hurting and suffering.

Who can receive counselling?

Onekawa Bible Church has been blessed by its church body to be able to offer counsel, free of charge, to anyone who requires assistance. However, priority is given to our church members/attenders.
